About Foster the Future
Foster the Future is a charity built for young people, by young people. In Australia 75% of children in foster care don't finish high school, 33% will end up homeless before turning 21, and we are working to change that. Foster the Future provides free, weekly, one-on-one tutoring and educational support to help disengaged students get back on track. As a member of our marketing team you will have the opportunity to help develop marketing strategy, work with external and internal teams, and be creative to achieve our mission.
About the role
Our marketing managers help to spread the word about Foster the Future. You will be involved in content creation and communications in line with our goals as an organisation. We are a lean charity and this is the perfect opportunity for you to own your initiatives, learn new skills, and develop your leadership capabilities. Our members are a remote group of volunteers all working on one mission as one team. Our volunteer roles are very flexible, and we are a results-driven organisation.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other members of the marketing team as well as cross-functional teams to deliver Foster the Future’s mission of providing educational access to disadvantaged youth
Assist in the development of short and long term plans and schedules to execute on our marketing initiatives and team goals
Help to drive recruitment of students and tutors in conjunction with the operations team through development of outreach materials
Assist in design and promotion of merchandise
Assist in designing our brand scheme and awareness
Assist in website design and relevant content creation
Who You Are:
You are a leader and have a desire to take ownership of your part of the organisation
You have a passion for marketing and creative thinking
You are passionate about helping some of the most disadvantaged members of our society
You are a team player who wants to give back to your community
You have strong project management skills and attention to detail
You have good relationship management, as you will be expected to engage with stakeholders across different functions
You have strong written and visual communication skills
You have demonstrated ability to apply or adapt to software applications, such as CRM systems, social media, Google Analytics
Demonstrated videography/photography skills strongly preferred
